Ollie Weston

plays, writes and records music

About

A versatile and accomplished musician, Ollie has performed and recorded with well-known artists the world over. Fluent in jazz, pop and studio music, his saxophone playing has graced gigs and recordings by a host of artists across many genres. A well known educator, he teaches jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and has a series of books published by Schott.

Ollie also writes and arranges for his own quartet whose debut album 'Half Moon Switch' is out on 33 Records. He works as a composer, arranger and session player from his home studio and has delivered many tracks and sessions remotely.

Teaching

Ollie has been teaching the saxophone for the last eight years both in primary and secondary schools. Many of his former pupils are now studying music at university or conservatoire level and are hoping to make their careers in music. He is Professor of jazz saxophone at the Guildhall School of Music (junior department) and currently runs both the jazz workshop and the Jazz MA courses for the junior school.

Ollie's 'Exploring Jazz' books are published by Schott and available at music and book shops worldwide.
