Since graduating from the Leeds College of Music (BA hons) and the Guildhall School of Music (Post Graduate Diploma in Performance) I have established a busy and varied career in Music. As a Saxophonist, I have performed in live and studio settings with artists as diverse as Amy Winehouse, Tim Minchin, Bonobo, Frank Turner, The London Jazz Orchestra, The Hackney Colliery Band, The Ambient Jazz Ensemble and The Nelson Riddle Orchestra. I am also the co/leader of the Jazz Quartet ‘Time Is Of The Essence’ and I compose and arrange material for this and other ensembles.

I have also worked in studio and theatre settings with performances on many West End and touring shows including Chicago, Dream Girls, Songs For Nobodies and two critically acclaimed seasons at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. As a session musician, I have worked in many leading studios on Film/TV and commercial music as well as working as a session player and arranger from my home studio delivering remote recordings to client briefs.

I am active in music education, currently the course leader for the Jazz department at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (junior school) I run Jazz ensembles, Big Band and theory classes. I have written a series of ‘Exploring Jazz’ books for Schott Music that are published worldwide and feature on exam syllabus in the UK. I have run workshops for Oxford University, Pro Corda Strings and BABSWE as well the Guildhall School of Music summer schools.
